A while back, we received these snappy black and white prints in the shoppe. I absolutely love them. Right away my though was a simple Disappearing 9 Patch. I thought it would be fun, AND most of all, these are quick to make. We all know I’m not necessarily a finisher!!
So, I cut myself a quarter yard cut of all the fabrics and commenced to cutting. Because I was working with quarter yard cuts, it made more fabric sense to cut 4 1/2″ squares.
If you’d like to order the fabrics I used, click above!!
I started with 6 mostly white on black, and 6 black on white. I added in a yard of red I found in my stash. All in all, I was able to make 25 blocks. I pieced them all this way –
Then, I measured and cut the blocks into 4 pieces.
I sewed these all back together again and came up with the quilt above! This quilt had quite a few things go wrong….I ‘lost’ the blocks after I had them all pieced. They were MIA for about a month…..then the machine quilting went wrong and had to be taken out. It’s been a process!!!! But things happen sometimes!! To ALL of us. So let’s just say I’m glad to have the darned thing done!!
If you’d like a PDF of the instructions click below. This is a great quilt to make – I have made several in many different colorways.
Have fun!
