This is one of the most fun quilts I’ve made in a long time! It started when I found a stack of these brightly colored Emily’s Star blocks in my sewing room! Having no more of the fabric, I dug through my stash and pulled all the coordinating fabrics I could find. This is what I came up with. I think it all flows nicely.
Full disclosure – I was completely inspired by my sewing friend Greta Keverline, who made her quilt first in batiks. It is stunning! The Emily’s Star blocks measure 9″, so I needed to make Log Cabin Blocks that measure the same. Here is a simple instruction sheet which gives the dimensions needed for the blocks.
If you are interested in making the Emily’s Star blocks, I have a YouTube video here https://youtu.be/va_87iFngJg, and foundation sheets can be ordered here 8 1/2″ Emily’s Star Foundation Sheets by Lynn Graves – Notions for the Quilter (littlefoot.net).
I’ll be making a video soon on how I pieced the border for this quilt – so keep your eyes open!!
Thanks and have fun!
xoxo
