The Handi Quilter Avante can be rented for $17 per hour.  We provide the thread, your choice of color.  We provide the pantograph if you choose to use one.  In order to rent the Avante, you must take the Long Arm Crash Course class.  This class is required, regardless of your previous experience.  ***Rental of the Avante does not include use of the Pro Stitcher (computer).

Long Arm Crash Course class will run approx. 2 -3 hours, and teach you what you need to know to get started.  Class will be taught by Sarah or Susan.  Cost is $75, and each class is limited to two people.  Please call the shoppe to schedule a class, 724-482-6334.

If you would like to rent the Sweet 16 or the Simply 16, those are available as well.  You must bring your basted quilt with you.  Cost is $17 per hour, we provide the thread, you choose the color.  Long Arm Crash Course is not required for the use of these machines, however the first 20-30 minutes of your rental will involve basic instruction.

Saturday Sampler Club – 2nd Saturday of Each Month

Saturday Sampler Club

Second Saturday of every month!batik sampler crop

This is what you have been waiting for!  The chance to make 12 quilt blocks for only $5!  Here’s the deal – Come pick up your first block on Saturday, July 8th and pay only $5.  This is for the fabric and the pattern for two quilt blocks!!  The following month, on the Second Saturday, bring in your finished block and show it to one of our staff, and receive that month’s block for free!  For example, come into the shoppe on  Saturday, July 8th.  Pay $5 for your kit.  Come into the shoppe on the Second Saturday of August (the 12th), with your finished block from July and receive August’s kit for free!  If you can’t make it to the shoppe on that day, no problem, come when it’s convenient for you and you may purchase the kit for $5.  A friend can’t bring your block for you, you MUST pick it up in person.  Each Kit will make two 12″ blocks.  You only need to show us one finished block to get your next kit free.  If you want your quilt to be the size of the pictured quilt, make both blocks.

Notice something different in this quilt – the setting includes 6 different 24″ blocks.  A free pattern will be given every other month for this block.  Kits will also be available for purchase.

THREE colorways will be offered.  Pictured is Batik, the also available is a more traditional (think civil war/Kansas Troubles) kit.  The third choice we are calling Sarah’s Choice!  A fun, modern grouping.  Feel free to do more than one – but you are only eligible for one free kit per month.  However, at $5 per kit, it’s still a bargain!

In order to continue to offer this program at such an amazing price (or free!) we have made a change this year.  We will not be providing background fabric in your kits.  If you want to use the same background fabric for the entire quilt, including borders, you will need a total of 8-9 yards.  This quilt measures 92″ x 102″, so it’s huge!  The most economical way to do this is to purchase 3 yards of a wide back fabric – fabric that is 108″ wide.  OR, do a scrappy background – purchase a fat quarter or half yard each month.   (This is what I’m doing – all my different gray fabrics with Sarah’s Choice).

It’s not too late to join!!!

Program will last 12 months.  Finished quilt is Queen Sized

Long Arm Quilting Club – First Tuesday of the Month – February

‘Collage Quilting’, Saturday, February 3rd, with Nancy, 10-3

‘Collage Quilting’, Saturday, February 3rd, with Nancy, 10-3

Have you been wanting to enter the world of collage quiltmaking?  Well join Nancy on Saturday, November 4th and get started!

All participants are asked to bring 6-8 fat quarters to share.  There will be fabrics to share provided by the teacher as well.  It’s not so much quantity you need for these quilts as variety.  Large floral fabrics (think Kaffe Fassett) are best.

Stop into the shoppe and pick out a collage pattern to bring with you to class.  There are many, many Laura Heine patterns available.  It will be fun to see everyone’s different quilts develop!

Class fee – $25
