‘Intro to Quilting’, Wednesdays in June, with Nancy – June 7, 21, 28
Have you always wanted to make a quilt but have been afraid to try? Well fear no more! You will be stitching happily from start to finish on this darling project!
We will work for three Wednesdays in June to complete this project from start to finish. The perfect class for an absolute beginner!

Gather up those fat 1/8’s you have been saving and stitch up this darling quilt! Miss Margaret will be leading this class, and you will be amazed at how quickly it goes together!

Southwestern PA Quilt Shop Hop –
June 13-17, 2017
All shops hours during the hop are as follows:
Tuesday, June 13 – Friday June 16 – 10am – 9pm
Saturday, June 17th – 10am – 5pm
Passports go on sale this THURSDAY – March 16th! A Passport only costs $5 – and it is well worth it! The hop grand prizes include a bag containing a $50 gift certificate from each shop, a vintage Singer Featherweight sewing machine, and stunning baskets overflowing with prizes! This is going to be great fun! Also this year, participants who show their passport at the Pittsburgh Knit and Crochet and Creative Arts Festival will receive a discount on admission to that show.

Buttermilk Basin Cotton Club – 2nd Tuesday of each month – 10am – Starting April 11th
Join us for some miniature fun! Get together with friends new and old for a fun morning of miniatures! Each of these darling quilts measures around 24″ square. We will meet at 10am on the second Tuesday each month, starting April 11th.
Here’s how it works!
- Registration fee – $20 per quarter (3 months)
- Each month you will receive a FREE pattern to make the miniature quilt of the month. (Patterns regularly priced at $5.99 each)
- Helpful hints and techniques will be shared at each meeting.
- Free gift at each meeting.
- Kits will be available for purchase – members of the Cotton Club will be able to purchase kits before they are available for sale in the store.
- Of course we will have snacks!

‘Modern Building Blocks’- Wednesday Mornings, starting February 1st – with Sarah
Join us as we have a quilt along to make this fun quilt! We will be piecing it in sections, 7 sections all together. There are a total of 48 blocks ranging in size from 6″ to 36″! 8 classes total.
This is going to be SEW MUCH FUN!!!

‘Little Somethin Jacket’ – Saturday, June 3rd, with Nancy

New! Long Arm Rental Program
Have you been wanting to finish that quilt? Come in and rent the Handi Quilter!
The Handi Quilter Avante can be rented for $17 per hour. We provide the thread, your choice of color. We provide the pantograph if you choose to use one. In order to rent the Avante, you must take the Long Arm Crash Course class. This class is required, regardless of your previous experience. ***Rental of the Avante does not include use of the Pro Stitcher (computer).
Long Arm Crash Course class will run approx. 2 -3 hours, and teach you what you need to know to get started. Class will be taught by Sarah or Susan. Cost is $75, and each class is limited to two people. Please call the shoppe to schedule a class, 724-482-6334.
If you would like to rent the Sweet 16 or the Simply 16, those are available as well. You must bring your basted quilt with you. Cost is $17 per hour, we provide the thread, you choose the color. Long Arm Crash Course is not required for the use of these machines, however the first 20-30 minutes of your rental will involve basic instruction.

Quilters’ Day Out – Saturday, April 22nd 9am – 9pm
EVENT WILL BE AT RITZERT HALL IN EVANS CITY. ADDRESS 426 EAST MAIN STREET. DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM ST MATTHIAS CHURCH. ANY QUESTIONS STOP IN THE SHOP AND THE LADIES HERE WILL DIRECT YOU.

This Event is geared toward the ‘Secure Beginner’ and up! There will not be intense instruction, but there will be gals to help you.
Join us for a fun filled day! When you sign up for Quilters’ Day Out you will receive cutting instructions and fabric requirements for four different projects. You choose what project you want to do! Or do them all! It is sure to be a fun day.
A light breakfast will be provided, as well as a soup and sandwich lunch. Then a fabulous dinner catered by the Monroe Hotel.
The GRAND PRIZE of the day is a Vintage Singer Featherweight!!! Somebody will go home with this darling machine! So buy your tickets now, while they are still available, and enjoy a fun Quilters Day Out with your friends, old and new!
What to Bring –
- Sewing Machine
- Basic sewing supplies (rotary cutter, mat/ruler, scissors, thread, etc).
- Wear something comfy!
- Necessary fabrics for your project of choice.
- ***If you would rather sew on a UFO of your own, that is completely fine! Bring it with you. Everyone who attends Quilters’ Day Out will receive the four patterns for the quilts pictured at no additional charge.

Second Saturday Sampler Club Begins, Saturday, August 13th and the Second Saturday of every month!
This is what you have been waiting for! The chance to make 12 quilt blocks for only $5! Here’s the deal – Come pick up your first block on Saturday, August 13th and pay only $5. ***It’s not too late to join!! Start anytime!!*** This is for the fabric and the pattern for one quilt block!! The following month, on the Second Saturday, bring in your finished block and show it to one of our staff, and receive that month’s block for free! For example, come into the shoppe on Saturday, August 13th. Pay $5 for your kit. Come into the shoppe on the Second Saturday of September (the 10th), with your finished block from August and receive September’s kit for free! If you can’t make it to the shoppe on that day, no problem, come when it’s convenient for you and you may purchase the kit for $5. A friend can’t bring your block for you, you MUST pick it up in person.
Two colorways will be offered. Pictured is the Traditional, the other option is a cheerful 1930’s reprduction kit. Feel free to do both – but you are only eligible for one free kit per month. However, at $5 per kit, it’s still a bargain!
